STEP-BY-STEP
GUIDE: Connection for You and Your School District
HISTORY:
Broadening Access to Schools
The Washington
State Department of Health (DOH) piloted expanded registry access
to school districts in one county in 2004. Those pilot
results (.pdf) show access to registry records saves resources,
time and energy for staff and nurses, provides a clear picture
of the immunization status of children in your schools, and
allows more time for everything else busy school staff need
to do. Local Health Jurisdictions and medical practices across
the state have expressed their support and need for expanding
access to the registry to schools.
