The CHILD
Profile Immunization Registry can be accessed with any PC that has
access to the Internet and a web browser. Access is available to
providers who sign an information sharing agreement that assures
confidentiality, privacy, and security of the system.

Data Entry
It's easy to
enter a patient's current or past immunizations. Multiple immunizations
can be entered on one screen. Many fields can be pre-populated using
clinic-specific "personal" settings. A double-click of
your mouse in the date field inserts today's date, or a default
date that you select. This makes entering a complete immunization
history quick and easy. A child's history with 20 immunizations
can be entered in less than two minutes.

to manual data entry:

data in HL7 format

data in simple text format (per CHILD Profile specifications)
Real-time
HL7 interface
As an alternative
to manual data entry, providers may choose to submit data files
from their own information systems. A data exchange process can
be set up that sends batch data directly to CHILD Profile from an
electronic Medical Record, or from practice management and billing
systems. Batch data can either be in HL7 or simple text format.
Specifications for batch format are available from the CHILD Profile
Help Desk. A real-time interface using the HL7 protocol may also
